Founder & Creator
A lifetime devoted to craftsmanship.
Grace of London is the expression of a lifetime devoted to craftsmanship.
Its founder, Robert J Grace, began his career as an apprentice craftsman, learning his trade from the foundations and developing a deep respect for materials, detail and the importance of creating something properly.
What began as a traditional apprenticeship evolved into a career in specialist mosaic craftsmanship, taking Robert from craftsman to business owner, artist and creator. His work has received national and international recognition and has brought him into collaboration with leading architects, interior designers and some of the world's most discerning private clients.
True luxury is not simply about value. It is about rarity, provenance and the human hand behind what has been created.
The philosophy
That philosophy became Grace of London.
Robert's signature mosaic bathtubs transform an everyday object into something entirely unexpected. Handmade glass mosaics can be combined with extraordinary materials including 24-carat gold, white gold, platinum and crystal, with each commission individually conceived for its owner and the environment in which it will ultimately live.
But Robert's vision extends beyond any single object.
Grace of London represents his belief that exceptional craftsmanship can sit alongside art, sculpture and contemporary luxury — creating pieces that are not governed by fashion or mass production, but by imagination.
The author
Robert is also the author of From Apprentice to Creator, a natural extension of the journey that began with his own apprenticeship and ultimately led to the creation of Grace of London.
What can we create that does not already exist?
The question
For Robert, the most important question is rarely:
“What can we sell?”
It is:
“What can we create that does not already exist?”
That question continues to define Grace of London.
Every commission begins with a conversation. An idea becomes a drawing, a material, a colour, a texture and eventually an object created by human hands.
No two stories need to be the same.
No two pieces need to be the same.
Grace of London was never created to manufacture luxury. It was created to create it.
